CURRENT INCENTIVES FOR SOLAR

California solar customers benefit from state programs that can significantly reduce the cost of going solar. Below is an overview of the incentives currently available to residential and commercial customers in California's Central Valley.

California
No Tax Increase

California Property Tax Exclusion

Under California law, the added value of a solar energy system is excluded from your property tax assessment. This means installing solar will not increase your property taxes, even though it adds value to your home.

This exclusion applies to active solar energy systems installed on residential and commercial properties throughout California.

Consult your county assessor or a tax professional for details specific to your property.

Battery Rebates

Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP)

California's SGIP provides rebates for battery storage systems installed alongside solar. The program is designed to help customers store solar energy for use during evening peak hours — and keep the lights on during outages.

SGIP funding is allocated in waves and may not always be available. Rebate amounts vary based on system size, customer type, and available program funds.
